Who else got 'em obsessed like Jenny?

For this shoot, I wanted to create something that felt romantic, dreamy, and a little mystical. I kept thinking about the idea of love magic. The kind of scene that feels like it belongs in a story. Soft light, rose petals, water, and the feeling that someone is quietly performing a love spell.

My friend Jenny modeled for this shoot, which made the whole process really fun and collaborative. When you work with someone you trust, it becomes easier to experiment and try ideas without worrying too much about getting everything perfect. This was also my first time photographing someone in a bathtub, which added a whole new layer to the shoot. The bath became the main environment for the images. Water creates a really soft and romantic feeling in photos, and it allowed us to add details like floating rose petals. I wanted the scene to feel simple and intentional instead of overly styled. Jenny had soft makeup and natural hair so the focus stayed on the mood of the scene. Lighting was one of the most important parts of making the photos work. I wanted the images to feel warm and intimate, almost like they were lit by candlelight. Instead of harsh light, I focused on creating something softer that wrapped around the subject and reflected gently on the water.

Shooting around water was definitely a learning experience. Reflections from the surface of the bath change constantly, and highlights can appear quickly if the light is too strong. At the same time, those reflections ended up becoming one of my favorite parts of the images because they added texture and depth.

What I liked most about this photoshoot was how experimental it felt. Trying something new is one of the best parts of being a photographer. This shoot pushed me outside my normal setups and gave me a chance to explore a completely different environment.

Working with Jenny made the whole experience even better. It felt relaxed, creative, and collaborative. By the end of the shoot we had created a set of images that felt romantic, a little magical, and very different from the work I usually create.

I definitely want to experiment more with water in future photoshoots.
