For this Valentine’s Day photoshoot I styled the Odile Gala doll in a dress from a 2004 Valentine’s Day Barbie. The outfit has always been one of my favorites, and the one I used in this shoot is actually from my childhood collection. Using it again felt really nostalgic.
I wanted the photos to feel romantic and soft, with a classic Valentine’s Day color palette. The pink and red tones in the dress became the main inspiration for the set and styling.
Because the outfit already had so much personality, I kept the scene simple and focused on lighting and color. The goal was to create a dreamy portrait that felt playful and a little nostalgic, while still highlighting the details of the doll and the dress.
One of the things I enjoy most about doll photography is being able to revisit pieces from my childhood in a creative way. Bringing this Valentine’s Day outfit back into a photoshoot made the project feel a little more personal than usual.
